WalMUN is...
Agenda for delegates
WalMUN basically consists of five stages.
The very first stage actually takes place beforehand the conference. In order to be a good delegate, you need to make sure, you know „your“ country and its view pertaining to your committee. Moreover you should communicate with your delegation before the conference to consult about the obligatory one-minute opening speech at WalMUN. Assumed you are a first time MUN delegate, you also need to deal with the formalities of a MUN session, which you can find in the handbook.
Well prepared and formally dressed, you may now attend the opening ceremony which includes short speeches of every delegation. The opening speeches are prepared before the conference and determined to give the other delegations an overview of the ideas of each country on the committees. By these means you are able to examine potential partners for the subsequent writing of resolutions.
At the third stage the delegations need to split up into the different committees. After a short introduction by the chair, the delegates start lobbying and to write their resolutions. This stage is extremely important as your discussions are based on your resolutions.
Shortly after your resolutions went through the approval panel, you will be able to discuss them within your committee and to propose amendments. The delegates will then vote over the different resolutions and choose one to be discussed in the General Assembly.
This directly leads to the fifth and last stage of WalMUN, the General Assembly. As the name indicates, the delegates are reunited so as to vote as a delegation on the resolutions after they were discussed. In the end, everyone should have been involved in order to find a differentiated solution to the problems stated.
You soon will be able to download Handbook and Research Reports of the different committees.
